Where will my massage or bodywork session take place?
Traditionally, massage or bodywork sessions take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room with soft music playing. Sessions can also be done almost anywhere and people are enjoying massage in all kinds of settings nowadays.
In Homes or Hotel rooms- It's important to have enough space for the massage table, which is about the size of a twin bed, plus give about 2-3 feet around the table so there's enough room for the therapist to walk around it.
Chair Massage - Please keep in mind that a massage chair takes up twice as much space as normal table chair. Please designate a space large enough for the massage chair and please allow an additional 2-3 feet for your therapist to walk all around the massage chair.
Must I be completely undressed?
Most massage and bodywork techniques done on a massage table are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped during the entire session.
(Chair massage clients may remain fully clothed during session.)
Will the practitioner be present when I disrobe?
The practitioner will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table, and cover yourself with a clean sheet or towel.
Will I be covered during the session?
You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
A typical full-body session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders.
What will the massage or bodywork feel like?
A relaxing Swedish massage is often a baseline for clients. In a general Swedish massage, your session may start with broad, flowing strokes that will help calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension. Often, a light oil or lotion is used to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin. The oil also helps hydrate your skin. You should communicate immediately if you feel any discomfort so that another approach may be taken. Massage and bodywork are most effective when your body is not resisting.
Are there different kinds of massage and bodywork?
There are numerous types of massage and bodywork; various techniques utilize different strokes, including basic rubbing strokes, rocking movement, posture and movement re-education, application of pressure to specific points, and more. We can discuss which methods may be most appropriate for you.
What should I do during the massage or bodywork session?
Prior to the massage, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. During the massage, make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax, communicating if/when they need more or less pressure, another blanket, or anything else relevant to the session. If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask.
How will I feel after the massage or bodywork session?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days.
What are the benefits of massage and bodywork?
Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.
Are there any medical conditions that would make massage or bodywork inadvisable?
Yes. That's why it's imperative that, before you begin your session, the practitioner asks general health questions. It is very important that you inform the practitioner of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor's care, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage or bodywork prior to any session. Depending on the condition, approval from your doctor may be required.

Tips to help prepare for your session
Clear your space and set your intention
Please make sure you have picked a designated area in your location with enough room to accommodate a massage table/ chair and your therapist while working. A massage table is slightly less wide than a twin sized bed and about the same length. Your therapist will also need enough room to walk around the table completely. (about 2 additional feet on each side). You may need to move some furniture around or tidy up a bit, please make sure this is done prior to your appointment time.
Ambiance
You may also want to set ambient music and lighting. Spa music, nature sounds, or instrumental music is preferred and may be provided, please use caution and common sense when using candles.
Professionalism and Safety
This is a professionally licensed therapeutic massage practice only and all laws must be followed. *No sensual or sexual services are offered and no such requests or insinuations will be tolerated. Any violation of this rule will result in immediate termination of the session without refund and law enforcement may be notified if your therapist at all feels their safety or professionalism has been threatened, no exceptions.
Cancelation Policy
We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:
*24 hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment.
No-shows
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” We require a valid credit card upon booking your appointment, and will charge up to 50% of the full service price regardless whether or not service is rendered. Please call, text, or email to cancel your appointment 24 hours ahead of time or as soon as possible if needed.
Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, or you are not ready for your session at the appointment time when your therapist arrives, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.
*If there happens to be an opening in your therapist's schedule in the time slot after your scheduled appointment, your therapist will most likely ask you if you would like them to stay later so they may give you the full length of your session and tell you what time exactly they would be finishing up with the session if so.
We look forward to serving you!
